What is meant by rating of a fuse? Why should a fuse of proper rating be used ?
Fuse rating means the current carrying capacity of the fuse wire depending upon the maximum current which a circuit or an appliance can withstand.It is usually 5 A for lighting circuits such that the fuse melts if the current in the circuit exceeds 5 A.
