How did the print culture create the conditions for French Revolution? Explain ?

1. Printing popularised the ideas of enlightenment thinkers like Voltaire, Rouseau and Montesquieu. Their writings provided a critical commentary on tradition, superstition and depotism and influenced people’s mind to rebel against monarchy.
2. Printing created new culture of dialogue and debate between the old religious and political ideas and the new politico-religious ideas, which led to the spread of new ideas of social revolution.

3By the 1788s there was an outpouring of literature that mocked the royalty and criticised their morality, while the common man suffered. These led to hostile sentiments against monarchy and raised questions about the existing scial order.

All these helped people to open their mind a nd think differently. The people were thus incited to take part in revolution.
