The fight for Swaraj was, in fact, a fight for liberty of speech, liberty of the press and freedom of association. During the Non - Cooperation Movement in (1919 - 22 and 1930 -34 ). Gandhiji spoke about liberty, freedom of speech press and association as essential components of Swaraj. To Gandhiji Swaraj meant to achieve freedom of press before any thing else.
