Give some differences between electric motor and generator ? |
Ans : Electric motor converts electrical energy into
mechanical energy. Generators are devices that turn mechanical energy into
electrical energy. Though they perform opposite functions, there are actually
few differences between motors and generators. They use the same principles of electromagnetic induction but
shows the difference in their operation and practically it is reversible. The
major differences are Construction ( bearings, stator rotor windings body etc. ) Output ( motor – mechanical energy , generator – ac / dc
electricity ) Input ( motor – ac / dc electric power , generator – mechanical
energy ) |
