a short note on medicinal plants

Almost all plants in the world are having some medicinal values. But the plants which are commonly used for making medicines or directly used as medicines are called medicinal plants. The useful part of the plant varies. It may be root, stem, bark, leaf, flower, fruit or seed.
Some plants are curative to certain specific diseases while some others are preventive measures. Most of the medicines used in Ayurveda are produced from plants. Some of the commonly used medicinal plants
are given below.
Tulsi(Holy basil)- The leaves are useful in cough, bronchitis, bacterial and viral infections, foul ulcers and wounds. It is effective against poisons of scorpion, spider and snake.
Some other medicinal plants - Ginger, Garlic, Cumin, Cinnamon.
