Jnanpith Award
The Jnanpith Award is a literary award in India. Along with the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship, it is one of the two most prestigious literary honours in the country. The award was instituted in 1961. Any Indian citizen who writes in any of the official languages of India is eligible for the honour. It is presented by the Bharatiya Jnanpith, a trust founded by the Sahu Jain family, the publishers of the The Times of India newspaper.
The name of the award is taken from Sanskrit words jn?na and p??ha (knowledge-seat). It carries a cheque for 7 lakh, a citation plaque and a bronze replica of Saraswati, the Indian goddess of knowledge, music, and the arts

Vayalar Award
The Vayalar Award is given for the best literary work in Malayalam. The award was instituted in 1977 by the Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Trust in memory of the poet and lyricist Vayalar Ramavarma (1928-1975). A sum of Rs.25,000/-, a silver plate and certificate constitutes the award. It is presented each year on October 27, the death anniversary of Vayalar.

Vallathol Award
Vallathol Award is instituted by Vallathol Sahithya Samithi in memory of Mahakavi Vallathol Narayana Menon. The award, one of the main Malayalam Literary Awards, is given to the Malayalam writers for his contribution to the language. Vallathol Puraskaram includes a memento and the prize money amount of Rs 1, 11, 111. The first winner of Vallathol Award was Mahakavi Pala Narayanan Nair in 1991.

Ezhuthachan Award
The Ezhuthachan Award carries a cash award Rs 1.5 lakh, a citation and memento. The award was instituted in 1993 by the late T M Jacob when he was the culture minister in memory of Thunchathathu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, father of the Malayalam language.

Kendra Sahitya Academy Awards (Malayalam)
Sahitya Akademi Award is a literary honor in India which Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters,annually confers on writers of outstanding works in one of the following twenty-four major Indian languages:Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Established in 1954, the award comprises a plaque and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 (in 2009 Govt. of India has announced to increase the amount to Rs. 100,000). The award's purpose is to recognize and promote excellence in Indian writing and also acknowledge new trends. Odakkuzhal Award
Odakkuzhal award is instituted by Guruvayurappan trust founded by Mahakavi G Sankarakurup.Mahakavi G (The Great Poet G), was the first winner of the Jnanpith Award, India's highest literary award. He won the prize in 1965 for his collection of poems in Malayalam Odakkuzhal (The bamboo flute, 1950). With part of the prize money he established the literary award Odakkuzhal in 1968.The winner of 2011 Odakkuzhal Award is Subhash Chandran.
