how does a bulb glow

Electrons flow freely through a copper wire into a bulb. Once the electrons reach the filament they experience resistance because the filament doesn't allow the electrons to flow as freely as the copper does. They get bunched up and squeezed together and become more excited. The more excited they get the more energy they release in the form of photons. Thus the bulb glows.
