If a place is located north of the equator, its latitude will be expressed as 0 N. If a place is located south of the equator, its latitude will be expressed as 0 S .

Longitude is an angular distance of place from the centre of the earth located east or west of the prime meridian . The prime meridian is located at 0o longitude . The longitude of a place located east of the prime meridian is expressed as oE, while the longitude of a place located west of the prime meridian is expressed as oW .
