WHAT ARE THE POLITICAL CAUSE THAT HELD IN FRENCH SOCIETY DURING 18TH CENTURY? |
French society was divided into three estates. Peasants made up of 90% of the population made up the third estate members. Only a small number third estate members owned the land they cultivated. The clergy occupied the first position and they were the first estate members. The royal family members were nobles and where in the second estate. The members of the first two estates enjoy certain privileges by birth. They were exempted from paying taxes to the state. The nobles enjoy feudal privileges. These included feudal dues which they extracted from the peasants. The peasants were forced to render service to the land lord. |
