HOW THE RATE OF TRANSPIRATION IS AFFECTED BY INTENSITY OF LIGHT?

Evaporation of water from the plant occurs primarily through the stomata. An increase in light intensity results in an increase in transpiration due to an increase stomatal opening. Plants transpire faster at higher temperatures. This is because the rate of evaporation increases with temperature.Increased light intensity increases transpiration, as more heat is absorbed by the leaf meaning more water will be evaporated, also there is more photosynthesis meaning more water is being transported through the leaf. If the light is less transpiration will also decrease.
