WHAT IS MEANT BY "CHAURI CHAURA" AND WHEN DID IT OCCUR?
Chauri Chaura incident occurred at Chauri Chaura on 5th February, 1922, when a group of protesters, who were participating in Non-Co-operaton movement turned violent and lead to police firing and burning of police station leading to several deaths of civilians and police man. P protesters had gathered to picket the liquor shop at the local market in Chauri Chaura.
