WHY IS INDIA CALLED A FEDERAL COUNTRY?

India has Three-Tier system of govt. Constitution provide Three type of lists i.e., Union List (having subjects of national importance) , State List(having subjects of state and local importance) , and Concurrent List(having subject of common importance to both central and state govt.) . Power is shared between Central and State govt. that is  Decentralization. The government's power can be divided into three branches: executive, judiciary and parliament.  As with the United States, India is comprised of individual states.  India's central government has authority over these states and even has the authority to change the boundaries of the states.
