HOW MANY GRAND MASTERS ARE IN THE WORLD AND INDIA?

 Grandmaster is a title awarded to world-class chess players by the sport's governing body FIDE. Apart from "World Champion", Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life. In September 2012 FIDE lists 1380 living Grandmasters. Of these, 1353 are male and 27 are female.
