what is antichlor?

An antichlor is a substance used to remove the excess of chlorine. Antichlors include sodium bisulphite, potassium bisulphite, sodium meta-bisulphite, sodium thio-sulphhate, and hydrogen peroxide.
In the textile industry, the antichlor is usually added right before the end of the bleaching process. It is mainly used on fiber, textiles, and paper pulp.
Antichlors are sometimes added to shampoos for treating hair after swimming in chlorinated water.
