WHAT IS MEMBRANE BOUND ORGANELLES?

A membrane bound organelle is an organised cellular structure that carries out a unique function. They include mitochondrion, vacuoles, plastids, vesicles and the nucleus among others. They are the locations in a cell in which the generation of energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) takes place. These membranes are laden with an enzyme complex that aids in ATP production.
