What are the "laws of motion"?

Sir Isaac Newton proposed three fundamental laws propounding on the physics of motion of a body. These are popularly known as Newton's Laws of Motion. These are:

Newtons First Law of Motion: Every body continues in a state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled by an external force to change that state.

Newtons Second Law of Motion: The time rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the impressed force and takes place in the direction of force.

Newtons Third Law of Motion:To every action there is an equal (in magnitude) and opposite (in direction) reaction.
