Ask a Teacher

Whats the actual mass & charge of electron? How can the charge of electron be equal to charge of proton?

Ans :
The mass of the electron  is  me  =  9.109 x 10-31 kg.
  The charge of electron is C = 1.6021765 × 10-19 coulomb.
An atom is considered to be electrically neutral.Which in turn means the electron and proton consists of equal but opposite charges based on the fact they are equal in number.
