what is convex mirror?what are the pecularities of this type of mirror?
A convex mirror is that spherical mirror in which the reflection of light takes place at the convex surface (or bulging - out surface). The back side of a shining steel spoon is an example of convex mirror.


Convex mirror is used as reflector in street - lights because this mirror diverges the light falling on it , there by illuminating a larger area.

Convex mirror is used as rear view mirror in auto mobiles because

(a) it produces erect images of objects in front of it.

(b)the size of the image formed is smaller and therefore, has wide view of coverage.

(c) all images are formed between pole and focus.
