Ask a Teacher

the area of cross section of a conductor is 2 mm 2 and its resistance is 20 . what will be the resistance wen its length is double ?

Ans :
The resistance of a conductor, R = (k L)/ A
K - resistivity ( a constant value)
L - length
A - area of cross section
ie, Resistance  is directly proportional to length , it gets doubled.
New resistance = 2 R = 40 ohm
