how can we understand whether a reaction is combination or decomposition reactions ?
Combination reaction, sometimes called synthesis, in composition elements get together to form a compound. eg 2Mg+O2--> 2MgO
Decomposition, in decomposition, the compound comes apart.
example:  CaCO3-->CaO+CO2.
