A rainbow is a spectrum of  colors  usually identified as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, that appears in the sky opposite the sun as a result of the dispersion of sunlight in drops of rain or mist.

Since it is formed due to refraction of light ,we can make the rainbow colors artificially.Some of the methods are 

1.By properly placing a compact disc against the sun light we can see spectral on the surface.

2.Take a glass tumbler filled with water and apply some light beam vertically downwards. When moving it downwards slowly ,when looking horizontally  can see beam of colors on the glass face.
