what is the difference between moles and molecules? |
A mole is simply a number or a quantity. A mole is 6.023 x 1023 number of atoms, molecules or some other count of items. for eg: A mole of hydrogen atoms means that there are 6.023×1023 hydrogen atoms. A molecule is several atoms bonded together. For example, hydrogen (H) and Oxygen (O) are atoms, but H20 (two hydrogen and one oxygen) is a molecule. Mole may consists of 6.023×1023 no. of molecules. |
