what are the chemical substance inside the electric cell?

Electric cell

A source of electricity is required to produce an electric current .A very useful source of electricity is the cell which was discovered by Alessandro Volta an Italian scientist .The cell ,known as dry cell (primary cell disposable battery)) is a device that converts chemical energy directly into electrical energy .The first electric cell was designed by placing alternate discs of zinc and copper with pieces of cardboard soaked in brine between the discs .

Secondary cell
Secondary cell (rechargeable battery ) also known as a storage cell ,is basically a rechargeable cell .These types of cells are also known as lead-acid accumulators .In these cells ,electrical energy can be stored in the form of chemical energy and the stored chemical energy can be reconverted into electrical energy .Car batteries are examples of secondary cells and these contain liquid components as well .

The chemicals used in the electric cell
Zinc, cadmium, mercury, lead.nickel etc. are the chemicals used in the electric cell .
