Is magnet a metal? why it's not on the periodic table?

A magnet is anything that carries a static magnetic field around with it. There are lots of kinds of magnets. The ones you find most commonly are permanent magnets made out of some special metals, especially iron, or are mixtures of these metals and other stuff (like rubber or ceramics). Other kinds of magnets need electricity to flow through coiled wires to create a magnetic field. Some magnets are combinations of these -- they have wire wrapped around an iron core.

Magnets are materials that produce magnetic fields, which attract specific metals. Every magnet has a north and a south pole. Opposite poles attract, while like poles repel.

While most magnets are made from metals and metal alloys, scientists have devised ways to create magnets from composite materials, such as magnetic polymers.

The periodic table is a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements, organized on the basis of their atomic numbers, electron configurations, and recurring chemical properties.we know magnet is not an element.so not in periodic table.
