How to represent the root of 4.7 on number line .
1. Draw a line named 'AB ' with measure 4.7unit.

2. From B Add 1 cm and mark as 'C '

3. take the half of 'AC ' and mark it 'O '

4. take the measure of 'AO ' as radius and with 'O ' as centre draw a semi circle.

5. And from 'B ' draw a line perpendicular to AB, touching the semi circle at D.

6. Take compass pointer on B and the pencil point on D and then draw an arc on no. line.

7. Hence mark on no. line as root 4.7
