where is the minimum distance between two meridians?why?

Meridians are semi-great circles that converge at the poles. Their distance is maximum at the equator where they are parallel and therefore cut the equator at 90 degrees. As they converge towards the poles their distance decreases and it becomes zero.The distance between any two meridians is known as departure.
