write an activity to show that chlorophyll is necessary for photosynthesis

Take two potted plants place one in the sun and other one in a dark room water them regularly.
After 2-3 days take one leaf each from both plants dip them in warm water & then in warm alchohol and then put few drops of iodine solution . The leaf which was in light will show colour change and the one in dark will remain as it was. This proves that sun is essential for photosynthesis .
