what is neutralisation reaction?give two examples.

Neutralisation reaction is a chemical reaction in which an acid and a base react to form salt. When an acid solution and a basic solution are mixed, hydroxide ions react with hydronium ions to produce H2O molecules .

that is H3O  +  HO- _______> 2H2O

The other ions which are present in the original solutions are separately solvated and unaffected  by the reaction going around them .

An example for a neutralisation reaction is ,

(1)Hydro chloric acid reacts with sodium hydroxide forms sodium chloride and water .

HCl  +  NaOH  _________ >  NaCl  +  H2O

(2)Sulphuric acid reacts with ammonium hydroxide forms ammonium sulphate and water .

H2SO4 +2NH4OH _______>(NH4)2SO4 +2H2O
