What is electrostatic force?

Electrostatic force in basic sense is the attraction or repulsion between two charged particles. for example , the sticking of paper pieces to the comb after you comb your hair. its quite an interesting field. so , well , yes covalent compounds can exhibit electrostatic forces , the do so due to dipole moment. in case of these covalent compounds , the forces are rather called Van der waal's forces.
