Global Positioning System

Global positioning system is an instrument used for the determination of the positions of the objects on the Earth's surface. GPS is an instrument that is used for carrying out surveys in a simple manner. It works using signals received from the artificial satellites. A GPS receiver should receive signals from at least four satellites in the network to be able to display the latitude, longitude, height and time of the place. GPS is of immense help in several activities including map making and transportation.
