who invented bulb |
The 1st light bulb was built by Humphry Davy (an Englishman) in
1809. Thomas Alva Edison improved the invention and based his
improvements on a patent he purchased from inventors Henry Woodward
& Matthew Evans who patented their bulb in 1875. Sir Joseph Wilson Swan produced an early electric lightbulb (1860), and in 1880, independently of Thomas Alva Edison, he produced a carbon-filament incandescent electric lamp. Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 - October 18, 1931) was an American inventor, scientist and businessman who developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. |
