what is zeroes of a polynomial?

Let p(x) = a0 + a1x + a2x2 + · · · + anxn be a polynomial. a is a zero of the polynomial if and only if p(a) = 0.
for eg: let p(x) =  x2 + x ? 2
              p(1) = 0 and p(-2) = 0
           i.e., 1 & -2 are the zeroes of p(x).
