distributive property

Distributive property states that the product of a number and a sum is equal to the sum of the individual products of the addends and the number.
i.e., a(b + c) = ab + ac

For eg: Let a=1, b=2, c=2
             a(b+c)=1(2+2)
                        = 4
              ab+ac = 1×2+1×2
                         = 2+2
                          = 4
         i.e. a(b+c) = ab+ac
