WHAT IS CAPACITOR? WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CAPACITORS AND THE SUBSTANCES FILLED IN THESE CAPACITORS? WHAT ARE THE CAPACITANCE OF EACH CAPACITOR? WHAT IS THE CAPACITANCE OF EARTH?

A capacitor is a device that stores electric charge. Capacitors have many important applications in electronics.Such as storing electric potential energy, delaying voltage changes when coupled with resistors, filtering out unwanted frequency signals, forming resonant circuits and making frequency-dependent and independent voltage dividers when combined with resistors. Capacitors vary in shape and size, but the basic configuration is two conductors carrying equal but opposite charges .
Different types of capacitors are
1.Parallel plate capacitor
The simplest example of a capacitor consists of two conducting plates of area A, which are parallel to each other, and separated by a distance d, as shown

2.Cylindrical capacitor

3.Spherical capacitor

Consider earth as a spherical capacitor and take its radius as  6.37×106 m .We get capacitance as 7.09e-04 F
