if an equation is dimensionally consistent, why is it not proved right? |
Use dimensional analysis to confirm dimensional consistency. Length of Your Nose + Length of your Little finger = length of your tongue. Dimensionally consistent but physically incorrect (probably). The first level of confirmation is your knowledge The second level of conformation is an authority The third level is a text book The fourth level is a peer reviewed reference work (article) the ultimate confirmation is to establish the equation based on your own experimental work and subjected to expert peer review. |
