Transitive verbs. 1.Rahim eats mangoes. Here the action denoted by the verb eats passes over from the subject Rahim to the object mangoes.The verb eats is, therefore, a transitive verb. 2.I am reading a news paper. 3.It is time to feed the baby. 4.She called me a liar. 5.The members elect the office-bearers. Intransitive verbs. 1.The baby cries loudly. In this sentence, the action denoted by the verb cries stops with the subject baby and does not pass over to an object.The verb cries is, therefore, an intransitive verb. 2.The horse runs very fast. 3.The dog barked several times in the night. 4.I went to the store yesterday. 5.The accident happened in front of this shop
