What is Chromasomal theory of inheritance?

The chromosomal theory of inheritance is  genes, the units of heredity, are physical in nature and are found in the chromosomes. The bridge between generation is through sperm and ovum,the sperm and egg shall equally contribute equally in the heredity of the offspring. Nucleus contains chromosomes hence chromosomes must contain  the  hereditary traits. Each chromosome will have a definite role in the development of an individual.
