both angiosperms and gymnosperms bear seed ,then why are they classified separately?

Angiosperms possess flowers. After fertilization, they produce fruits and the seeds are seen inside the fruits. But in gymnosperms, flower and fruit are not produced. They directly give rise to reproductive bodies. They are not called seeds. They are called cones or strobilus. Literally, 'Gymnosperms' means 'naked-seeded plants'.
