What is reporter enzyme?

Reporter enzymes are enzymes that are covalently attached to analyte in an immunoassay because of their ability to amplify a weak signal and increase detectability of this target molecule. They are generally used to report on antibody/antigen interactions. They have high sensitivity,long shell life and output versatility.
