Ask a Teacher

will current flow more easily through a thick wire or a thin wire of the same material, when connected to the same source? why?

Ans: The  current flow  is inversely proportional to the resistance of the conductor,
         Resistance ,R = RoL / A

                                  Ro = resistivity of the material
                                   L = length
                                   A  = cross sectional area
For a thick wire it possesses a large cross sectional area which in turn means reduced resistance. So a current large current will flow through a thicker wire than the thin one.
