Ask a Teacher

let the resistance of an electrical component remains constant while the potential difference across the two ends of the component decreases to half of its formal value. what change will occur in the current through it?

Ans:
I = V / R
when V reduces to V/2 ,

          I = (V/2) / R = V/2R.
ie ,current also reduces by half of its previous value.
