WHAT IS PATRON?
Patron is an influential, wealthy individual who supports another person – an artiste, a craftsperson, a learned man, or a noble. Brahmanas, the priests were the dominent groups in the society. Their knowledge of Sanskrit texts earned them a lot of respect in the society. Patrons supported their dominent positions.
