Why are viruses not considered as a cell?Which kingdom do they belong to? |
Basically because it does not have the things required to BE a cell,
which is considered to be an organism. A virus is not considered an
organism. The virus has a core of RNA or DNA which is surrounded by a
protein coat. Unlike cells that can either go through mitosis or binary
fission, viruses cannot replicate itself unless it is in a host cell. They do not belong to any kingdom. |
