what is sedimentary rock

Sedimentary rocks are those that represent the material record of environments in the form of rock layers or strata that once existed on earth.It is formed from sediments deposited on the sea bed, river bed, floors of lakes, on searches, on land, glacial moraines etc. Sedimentary rocks are also known as stratified rocks because of their layered structure.
