What is a pun?
Pun means the usually humorous use of a word in such a way as to suggest two or more of its meanings or the meaning of another word similar in sound . Pun is a play on words, sometimes on different senses of the same word and sometimes on the similar sense or sound of different words. Examples: Did you hear about the optometrist who fell into a lens grinder and made a spectacle of himself? Where do you find giant snails? On the ends of giants’ fingers. The best way to communicate with a fish is to drop them a line.
