what are the steps of limiting reagent

The reacting substance  which gets used up first in the reaction is called limiting reagent .This is because the amount of the limiting reagent limits the amount of the products formed .

Steps for solving problems based on chemical equations.

Step 1 .Write down the balance chemical equations .
Step 2   Write down the stoichiometry (number of moles ,relative mass or volume etc            of each reactant and product below their symbols or formula .
Step 3 .Identify the substances whose quantities are given or not to be found out .Write down the actual quantities of the substances given .
Step4  . Calculate the quantity of the desired substance by simple mathematical calculations.
