what is commerce?

According to James Stephenson, "Commerce is an organized system for the exchange of goods between the members of the industrial world." Commerce is a branch of business. It is concerned with the exchange of goods and services. It includes all those activities, which directly or indirectly facilitate that exchange. In a simpler form commerce means 'exchange of goods or services for money or in kind, usually on a large scale to require transportation from place to place or across city, state, or national boundaries.'
