what is boyle's law?

Boyle's Law
The principle that, for relatively low pressures, the pressure of an ideal gas kept at constant temperature varies inversely with the volume of the gas.You can also think of it this way: as the volume increases, the pressure decreases. As the volume decreases, the pressure increases. Boyle's law defines the relationship of pressure and volume in gases which is embodied by the equation:
 PV=k
P is pressure of the system
V is the volume of the gas
k is a constant
 The following equation is useful in determining the pressure or volume of an ideal gas (with constant amount) when one variable has been changed:
P1V1=P2V2
P1 is the pressure of the system before the change
V1 is the volume of the gas before the change
P2 is the pressure of the system after the change
V2 is the volume of the gas after the change
