What is the most important use of Java?
Java is used for two things primarily. Shortly after its introduction, Java's most important use was for Web page applets. These were used for things such as animation, specialized inputs and outputs. Since then, Java has gained considerable usage in applications where its unique abilities are especially important: portability and security.
