how did the muhgal dynasty end?

Aurangzeb's ill conceived policies made enemies of the Rajputs, Jats, Sikhs and Marathas. Aurangzeb's constant wars depleted the treasury. The Empire lost its ability to pay the troops in time. The Mughal dynasty did not have clear rules of succession. The later Mughals were failures as Emperors. Most of them were given more to the luxuries and pleasures of life, and had little interest in rescuing their declining Empire. This led to bloody conflicts among the successors after the death of every Mughal ruler. After Aurangzeb, ten rulers occupied the throne in quick succession, within a span of 54 years. These rulers were mostly controlled by powerful nobles and were in no position to assert their authority or strengthen the failing Mughal Empire.
